A scanner in your phone: is the camera enough
For a small warehouse a phone camera is a good start, but at high volume a dedicated scanner is faster.
Modern phones read linear codes and QR well and spare you a separate device. Reading slows down in poor light or with a tiny label.
If you count hundreds of positions a day, aiming a camera by hand gets tiring; that is the moment to move to a Bluetooth scanner or a terminal.
