Data collection terminal or a plain scanner
A plain scanner depends on a computer; a terminal has its own screen and memory and works on its own.
For work at a till or desk a plain scanner is enough. For counting and receiving while walking the warehouse a terminal is better: it shows the list, stores data in memory and uploads it later.
Its main advantage is that it keeps working where there is no signal.
